My decision to seek a position on the Monterey County Superior Court bench came after considerable thought, and encouragement from several judges and other members of the legal community, longtime friends and relatives. Endorsements from 22 current and former judges and justices of our local bench, prosecutors and defense attorneys, civic leaders, police officers, probation officers, civil law attorneys, and the business community give me faith my decision to run is the correct one, for me and the people of Monterey County.

I have worked as a criminal defense attorney in Monterey County for more than six years. Prior to that I was a prosecutor locally and in the Bronx, N.Y., for a total of 13 years. I have a diverse background and a firm commitment to seeing that the law is fairly administered and justice is served to all.

As a prosecutor I helped place behind bars people whose crimes merited their forced separation from society. As a criminal defense attorney I have represented a wide variety of clients from all walks of life. My goal in both positions has been to see that justice was ensured. In both roles I never shied away from the tough cases.

If the people of Monterey County honor me by electing me judge, I will be prepared to make the difficult decisions that a judge must make, and I will treat people fairly, courteously and with respect
