I have represented the People of the State of California for over fifteen years, seeking justice for our community of Monterey County. As a prosecutor, my objective has always included a responsibility to ensure a fair process by protecting the rights of the accused as well as the dignity of victims and witnesses. Following these principles, I have earned a reputation among my colleagues, opponents, and attending judges as being tough but fair, honest, and industrious, whether prosecuting drunk driving, mortgage fraud, financial elder abuse, assault, robbery, gang, child molestation, public corruption, or murder cases.

Having prosecuted all major types of criminal cases in Monterey County, I fully understand both the impact of crime on its victims and our community and the importance of providing opportunities for rehabilitation for those offenders who strive to become productive citizens.

My dedication to making our community safer is inspired by the courage I have seen exhibited by ordinary people in the face of tragedy, by victims who must relive moments that are worse than most of us could ever imagine, and by the commitment of my colleagues in the District Attorney's Office, the defense bar, the civil bar, and by our dedicated Monterey County judges to see that justice prevails.

As a Superior Court Judge, I will be committed to ensuring that every person in my courtroom is treated with the dignity, respect, and fairness that justice requires.
