I am a strong supporter of our Public Safety Departments and their Officers.Our Police and Fire Departments are the finest around. We are rated as the eleventh safest city and are working hard to make that number even smaller. We have a class 1 Fire department that makes us the envy of the South Bay cities. Your insurance is less expensive because of the classification, but more importantly our response times are shorter than most. We have significantly added to the number of paramedics that can respond. Right now we cannot predict the financial future of the city. At present our financial situation is improving but anything can happen. Having a Council that is determined to protect our service levels is essential. I am committed to the highest possible service levels. Both Police and Fire have a myriad of community outreach programs that have proven their worth over and over. The Fire Department's Citizen Emergency Response Training (CERT) and the Police Department's Neighborhood Watch programs are just 2 examples. Our City has protected my family with excellent service and I am dedicated to protecting yours. |
