Political Philosophy for Chris Amaral

I believe that government officials have the responsibility to be transparent, fiscally responsible, and to instill sensible business policies to reduce bureaucracy and promote public confidence. If elected, I will enhance our systems and processes to better serve the county and its citizens. I will ensure the department excels both from a customer service aspect, in the true spirit of the civil servant, while operating in an efficient manner to maximize county revenue. As your Recorder-Clerk, I will work to improve and reform the office. This will include implementing initiatives to lower cost and to utilize best practices. I will fully integrate the recording, web site and telephone system so that all business and all information can be done online. Today, many processes are still manual and require a trip to the office. These and other enhancements will be the staples of an overall theme of developing a "True Customer Centric Environment" in the Recorder-Clerks and Elections Offices. I will implement a zero-based approach to budgeting with a rolling forecast, and other core fiscal management principles. I will not accept the continuation of business practices outside of regulatory guidelines. Finally, all of this will be transparent to the residents of El Dorado County, our customers. The office will be run with the utmost integrity and ethics. I will immediately work to develop and track key performance metrics and ensure that outcomes are accomplished. This office can no longer only compare volume to staff year over year. I am the candidate with recent private and public sector experience. I am the candidate with the necessary education and technical background to move this department into the 21st century. |
