Candidate for
Member, Board of Directors; Alameda County Flood Control and Water Conservation District; Zone 7

I am a life-long resident of Alameda County and have resided in Pleasanton for the past 45 years, moving here from Oakland in 1969 when I was 4 years old.

In Pleasanton my wife & I raised three children, now all in college, who are fifth generation California Morrisons and whose ancestors on their mother's side of the family stretch back to Coronado and the Spanish Conquistadors.

I originally became active in Tri-Valley water issues back in 1998 and this is actually my second attempt for a seat on the Zone 7 board. I first filed as a candidate for Zone 7 director at the turn of the century, the year 2000.

My undergrad education is from Saint Mary's College of California in Moraga where I earned a bachelor's degree in organizational management.

Through the 1990s I worked 11 years for Triad Systems Corporation in Livermore, primarily as the Senior Laser Products Coordinator. There I was responsible for managing CD-ROM production and distribution during a time when Triad was the largest distributor of non-musical CDs in the United States.

After Triad I worked 7+ years for ProBusiness/ADP in Pleasanton. I started at ProBusiness as a tax filing analyst, then moved to government agency relations, national account management, and finally settled in tax research.

I suffered through a layoff during the economic downturn and decided to fulfill an old goal of attending law school to become an attorney. In the summer of 2013 I received my Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from San Francisco Law School and passed the February 2014 California State Bar Exam. I will be sworn in as a licensed attorney on June 5th.

Over the past 10 years I have been most active in the Sierra Club serving in many different volunteer roles, several of which focus on water issues including serving as Chair of the SF Bay Chapter Water Committee, Vice Chair for Delta Issues in Sierra Club's California/Nevada Regional Conservation Committee, and executive committee member of Sierra Club's Tri-Valley Group. I also served as the Sierra Club representative to the Environmental Water Caucus.

I currently serve as Member-at-Large and Treasurer of the Sierra Club San Francisco Bay Chapter Executive Committee.
