- Medical liability claims professional, Norcal Mutual Insurance Company, 1979-2008 -- My responsibilities as a Claims Supervisor included supervising a staff of Claims Investigators and overseeing the handling of the company's lawsuits and claims in northern California, from Sonoma and Napa counties east and north to the state border. My responsibilities included representing the company at major settlement conferences and mediations and using authority, sometimes into the seven-figure range, to settle cases. I also served on the editorial board of the company's risk management publication Claims Rx.
