For too long, the people of the 50th District have been poorly represented in the General Assembly. I seek the Democratic nomination because I believe it is time for new leadership in Harrisburg. I believe it is time for someone who will listen to the problems of the people of Northwestern Pennsylvania and fight for what is right, what is needed. As your next State Senator, I will be your advocate. I will use common sense and pragmatism to address the issues that are continuously neglected in favor of regionalism, party politics, and special interest groups. I will fight for you in Harrisburg to ensure your voices are heard. As a native son of Northwestern Pennsylvania, I understand the problems you face from Greenville to Grove City and from Sharon to Titusville. I was born in Greenville and raised in Hermitage. I attended Hickory High School in Mercer County and graduated from Slippery Rock University. Western Pennsylvania is my home and has been my family's home for several generations. I love this state and its people. I have a sincere desire to help make your lives better as your next State Senator. Today, I operate my own law firm in Hermitage. I graduated from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law in 2011 and subsequently passed the Pennsylvania bar. As a local attorney, I have become deeply aware of the struggles many of you encounter day to day. I have come face to face with the great things that make up our communities in the 50th District, but I have also had to deal with the problems that have arisen due to economic degradation and inaction by some of our elected leaders. I know that we can do better. As your next State Senator, I will be a proactive representative in the General Assembly. After graduating from Slippery Rock University in 2006, I moved to Washington, D.C. for graduate school at The American University. While in Washington, D.C., I learned a great deal about the importance of civics and the dysfunction of government. But I also learned that as citizens we have the capacity to change our circumstances, to ask more of our elected leaders and from ourselves. I believe there is a balance that we can achieve that transcends party politics and special interest groups. I believe we should strive to provide opportunities to those in our communities to achieve a modest life and strive to make life better for our children. As a son of Northwestern Pennsylvania, I know there is always more that I can do for you as your next State Senator. My personal experiences have shaped who I am today. They have shaped my desire to serve as your next State Senator. I have taught civics to young and adolescent children. I have worked in Congress. I have sought to educate the young people of the 50th District about strengths that they have inside themselves to choose a path of productive citizenship. We must remember that we can always do better for ourselves and our community. As your next State Senator, I will always try to do better for you and your family. As I campaign for State Senate, I invite you to stand with me. I ask you to talk to me about your problems and about your hopes. If you believe, as I do, that new leadership is needed, get to know me and my ideas. I promise to stand with you through the good times and the bad. Will you stand with me? |
