Lydia T. Solomon
I'm up for re-election to the Radnor School Board. It has been an honor and a privilege to serve you on the board. This election is about maintaining the quality of our schools. I will continue to fight to maintain excellent schools in Radnor at the best price to the taxpayers. I'm running for re-election based on my record.
Promised:
- Focus on the importance of keeping low class sizes
- Providing an excellent education to all students
- Be respectful of the cost of education to the taxpayers
- Look for cost savings
- Thoughtfully prepare all students for the future
- Accountability and openness
- Integrity
Delivered:
- Kept class sizes low and within the guidelines in all the Radnor schools
- Maintained all educational programs despite the economic downturn and the severe budget cuts at the state and federal level that have crippled many school districts
- Delivered the four lowest tax increases in a generation in Radnor, including a tax decrease this year (for the first time in history)
- Radnor has the second lowest tax rate in Delaware County
- Implemented progressive educational programming, including plans for Full-day K, to provide the best education possible for each student
- Increased public comment opportunities at business meetings and expanded committee meeting times to accommodate the opportunity for listening to the views of all stake holders
- I work honestly and collaboratively to reach the best outcome
The above list of achievements has already been implemented, for the betterment of the Radnor community. However, the work is not finished. I need your support to protect our schools. Please join me, along with my slate of Rob Armstrong, Bruce Lenthall, and Susan Stern. I believe in sensible and thoughtful management of our schools. With my commitment to fiscal discipline and getting the best educational outcome for all students, our community wins. I ask for your vote on Nov. 5 for me and my slate.
