School Director; Wallingford-Swarthmore School District; Region 2; 4 Year Term

Robin Shields is running for the WSSD School Board position in Region 2 which encompasses Nether Providence Precincts 1-1, 1-2, 5-1, 5-2, 6-2 and 7-2 and all of the Borough of Rose Valley. She was appointed to the Board in August, 2012, to fill the seat of a member who had left the district. Robin has been a resident of the Wallingford Swarthmore School District since 1989 with her husband Bill. Her two sons have always attended WSSD school, her older son graduating from SHHS in 2012 and her younger son currently a senior. Robin has been an active participant and volunteer throughout: PTO Co-Chair at WES; coordinator of Dimensions in Living at SMHS and Home & School Secretary at SHHS. She is an active member and volunteer at Trinity Episcopal Church in Swarthmore, and helps to care for her 88 year old mother, a former resident of Putnam Village in Wallingford. With a B.S. in counseling/law enforcement from Penn State University, Robin had a 20 year career as a Special Agent with U.S. Customs, specializing in fraud and money laundering investigations. Her knowledge of financial transactions is particularly helpful as a current and active member of the Board Finance Committee. At present she is a Teaching Assistant at Swarthmore Presbyterian Nursery Day School in the PreK class.
