As an advisor to state and local governments, I help governments like the Radnor School Board to grapple with issues like planning for their long-term liabilities. Key among these issues are planning for pension and benefit liabilities. Additionally, I contribute to long-term plans to assist governments in distress and those hoping to avoid distress. This involves creating long-term plans for rehabilitating the tax base and modifying spending patterns.
I was selected in late 2012 to be an advisor to the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) Committee on Retirement and Benefits Administration (CORBA). The committee develops best practices and advisories for state and local governments relating to pension and other retiree benefit plan administration.
