I have been a Delaware County resident for most of my life and have lived in Rose Valley for the past five years. I'm married to Suzanne and have three adult children and six grandchildren. One of our daughters lives in Swarthmore, and has 2 children attending the Wallingford-Swarthmore School District. I am concerned with the challenges facing out school system and have decided to seek a seat on the Wallingford-Swarthmore School Board. With my extensive business experience I feel that I can contribute to sustain the scholastic excellence of the Wallingford-Swarthmore School District, while insuring fiscal responsibility. I am a former Vice President of Manufacturing with management responsibility for over 7000 people (Scott Paper Co. and Kimberly-Clark). In addition I have over 15 years of consulting experience in the field of Manufacturing and Team Based High Performance Organization. I also have spent thirteen years as Adjunct Professor in Widener University's MBA Program. I have over 35 years with Scott Paper Company in various positions ending as Vice President Manufacturing, Worldwide. I collaboratively worked with Scott Paper Union Leadership to transform manufacturing into a team based, high performance organization. In addition I held a Leadership role in Scott Paper/Kimberly-Clark merger and in the integration of manufacturing and product line. The key objectives that I plan to pursue if elected as a School Board member are as follows:

  • Utilize experience and problem solving skills to help deliver continuing educational excellence with fiscal responsibility.
  • Control spending to deliver the best value from school tax dollars so that middle income and fixed income families can continue to live in our community
  • Insure a curriculum based on continuous improvement that prepares students with skills needed to succeed in a diverse and changing environment.
  • Work collaboratively with administrators, teachers, fellow school board members and the community to develop innovative solutions that deal with the challenges facing the school system.
