|
Andy Daga is an entrepreneur, inventor, and experienced business leader. He is currently the founder and CEO of Momentum Dynamics Corporation. Momentum Dynamics has invented and is bringing to the world market a technology that can wirelessly recharge electric vehicles without plugging them in with a power cord. This Malvern-based company is bringing a new paradigm of technology to the world for the automotive, transportation, and industrial markets. Mr Daga has led the company and attracted millions of dollars in financing despite a deeply underperforming economy and at a time when other new companies have found it nearly impossible to attract financing. Andy believes in the importance of science and technology. Before founding Momentum Dynamics, he was a leading consultant to NASA and the U.S. Department of Defense. He contributed to the design of the International Space Station solar power system, the Mars Pathfinder program, and to future mission planning studies. His work with NASA, Boeing, Lockheed Martin and the US Air Force led to the development of novel concepts for wireless power transmission. He has also been a professional architect and engineer where he worked on building designs in various US states and in Asia. In the late 1990s he was a Director for Exton-based Bentley Systems, an international software company. As a senior design engineer and manager for the Gilbane Building Company, he was principally responsible for a $2B industrial project. Andy believes in life-long learning and professional development. He has attended such universities as the University of North Dakota, Spring Garden College and Cornell University; he holds degrees in structural and civil engineering and architecture and has taught both subjects at Penn State University. Beside his strong commitment and passion to his business pursuits, Andy has made an indelible contribution as a school board member to education within the Great Valley School District. Over the past four years, Andy, working with other incumbent school board Directors, has worked to save over $14,000,000 in carefully considered spending cuts. During these challenging economic times, the incumbent Board has worked to find unified purpose in order to achieve results + such as working respectfully with the teachers to come to an agreement to save over $1,500,000 in savings over two years while assuring no teacher furloughs. Andy, and other incumbent members, has held a steadfast commitment to improving the educational standard for which the district is renowned. The collaborative and cooperative approach of the incumbent Board has been one of Andy's objectives since he was elected, an it is one that has been borne out as the right course to follow. Since he was elected in 2009, in addition to his work on our GV school board, Andy also has served as a Director on the Chester County Intermediate Unit (CCIU) Board. The CCIU provides essential services to twelve school districts in Chester County and operates with a budget of over $200,000,000. He was instrumental in guiding the CCIU to a similar across the board payroll freeze, which amounted to more than $2,700,00 saved last year. Due to wise financial guidance, for the last two years, the CCIU has not needed to increase its charges to Great Valley for the services it provides. Andy and his wife Tammy have lived in Malvern for 17 years. Tammy is an accomplished IT professional with Vanguard. Tammy and Andy are the proud parents of two children who have attended General Wayne Elementary and now attend GV Middle School. |
