Candidate for
School Director; Fox Chapel Area School District; Region 3

Qualifications: I have served on the Fox Chapel Area School Board for 17 years; as President nine of those years. I participated on district committees including Strategic Planning, Finance, Resource/Planning, Compensation, Facilities, and Superintendent Search. I brought to the district experience in finance, management, strategie planning, human resources, marketing, and statistical analysis. I helped guided the district through changes in funding from the state and federal governments, as well as mandates imposed on local education, while constantly increasing the quality of education for all students. I helped to maintain our district in sound fiscal position even with state cutbacks and restrictions, such as pending huge increases in pension contributions, while maintaining one of the lowest tax rates in the county.

Knowledgeable: Major financial issues are facing school districts in today's economic environment. With my background in management and finance, I understand the financial pressures under which school districts operate. We must exercise fiscal responsibility for a cost effective education while providing and continually improving the excellent education system in the Fox Chapel Area School District.

Biographical: My background includes management positions as President of Weinstein Consulting, management consulting to major corporations and US Government; Chief Operating Officer/Executive Vice President of ABARTA Beverages, the tenth largest Coca-Cola production and distribution company in the USA; Vice President Marketing of General Cinema Corporation, the largest independent Pepsi-Cola bottler in the USA. I hold a B.S. in Economics and Finance from New York University and an MBA in Economics and Finance from The City College of New York. As a retiree I have the time necessary to devote to our School District. I have been a resident of the District for 31 years. My children attended and graduated from Fox Chapel Area Schools.
