Public Safety
Each of our neighborhoods has its own unique local culture, requiring an understanding of the diverse needs across the district. Tony Ceoffe will work with the zone commanders and neighborhood officers on creating specific strategic public safety plans best suited for each community.
UPMC's Nonprofit Status
In recent years, our city has been forced to make serious budget cuts that have affected our schools, police force, public works department, and the overall ability to deliver efficient and quality services to many of our residents, while UPMC has continued to profit immensely. Tony Ceoffe will work alongside the new mayor and colleagues on council to support Pittsburgh's challenge to UPMC's nonprofit status.
Fracking
Since its inception in 2010, Tony Ceoffe has been a vocal supporter of Pittsburgh's city-wide fracking ban. This is even more relevant now with recent news of exorbitant levels of radioactive waste in Pittsburgh's drinking water, which has been directly linked to regional fracking operations. The language of the ban as it currently stands will not withstand challenges and must be fortified, along with relevant zoning code.
