Cincinnati has the most progressive tax break in the world for building "green" LEED buildings. LEED is an international standard for "Leadership in Energy Efficient Design." Cincinnati has 80% of all LEED buildings in Ohio and the region,City of Cincinnati's CRA LEED Abatement Program gives property tax abatements for LEED buildings. The higher LEED level achieved, the higher the tax break. Residential Projects New Construction Certified = 15-years ($275,000) Silver = 15-years ($400,000) Gold = 15-years ($562,000) Platinum = 15-years (no limit) Renovation Certified = 10-years ($275,000) Silver = 10-years ($400,000) Gold = 10-years ($562,000) Platinum = 10-years (no limit) Commercial Projects Silver, Gold & Platinum Receive 100% abatement |
