Questions & Answers

1. What services do you believe should be considered basic and essential for the Township?

The essential services are (1) police and fire protection, (2) parks, and (3) roads and sidewalks. I have supported the LSFD and Sheriff's Office 100%. The construction of the new safety services building was my idea. I spearheaded the campaign to pass a levy to buy the Rozzi property to develop as a park. Promises made ten years ago about sidewalks have not been kept. The next segment to link neighborhoods to Symmes Elementary was delayed due to the vote of one of my opponents. This sidewalk should have been built a decade ago. The road resurfacing I initiated was abandoned for many years. The current board claims they have created such a plan, but they have merely revived the old plan initiated during my first term.

2. How would you balance the Township Budget?

Stopping the wasteful spending and focusing on services to the community as a whole, not just a few vocal residents. We balanced the budget and controlled spending during my twelve year tenure as a trustee. I fought against "feel good" projects that added little value to the quality of life for the residents. If reelected I will do that again.

3. Citizen engagement is important to the health of local government. In what ways do you support citizen engagement?

We have various volunteer committees and involve many of the township residents. When I served as President of the Board I allowed citizens to join into discussions of issues as they were being addressed by the board. Allowing this made it possible for the voters to impact a decision before it was made. We also have a website and a newsletter.
