1. What are your qualifications for office?
My legal education and experience will provide a significant asset to City Council. I have studied Constitutional law, and I also have experience in commercial and business litigation. These experiences will assist to generate stronger legislation, and they will also provide insight into certain challenges our businesses face.2. What services do you believe should be considered basic and essential for the City?
Council needs to refocus on the essentials. Council needs to raise public safety, property maintenance, and business development to the forefront of its priorities. I want nothing more than to see crime rates reduce.3. How would you balance the City Budget?
Council should not just think about how we can balance a budget. Instead, Council should focus on how it can spend money effectively. Council must focus financially on proper funding of its essentials before it is diverted to other programs. In addition, Council must protect designated and levy funds instead of dipping into them for a quick fix.4. Citizen engagement is important to the health of local government. In what ways do you support citizen engagement?
Currently, I am a part of citizen involvement. I worked with fellow citizens to bring an art gallery to NCH. I also worked with young citizens to bring a few murals to the City. Citizens exhibit the strength of a city. The government does not. I plan to continue to work with citizens to create great things in the City that are created from citizen initiative, rather than just relying on public money.
