What are your qualifications for office? (50 word limit) Answer from Melissa A. Powers: My qualifications include experience in effectively resolving 600-700 criminal cases per month and approximately 10 civil cases per month. Prior to my judical appointment to Hamilton County Municipal Court, I had fifteen years of trial experience in criminal, juvenile, appellate, domestic relations, probate, and civil courts. 2. What programs do you support to maintain the independence of the judiciary? (100 word limit) (No candidates submitted answers to this question) 3. What specific changes would you like to see in the administration of justice in Hamilton County? (100 word limit) Answer from Melissa A. Powers: I would support any change in the administration of justice in our community that increases the efficiency in resolving cases without compromising fairness to the litigants.
