1. What are your qualifications for office?
|
Answer from Ken A Suer:
I am the current Mayor of Montgomery and have served
as Vice-Mayor and Council Member since 2001. I have
previous experience on the Planning Commission and the
Board of Zoning Appeals. My wife and I have lived in
Montgomery for 24 years. I care strongly about the
City and will work hard to ensure its success.
|
2. What services do you believe should be considered basic and essential for the City?
|
Answer from Ken A Suer:
Certainly police and fire protection are at the top
of the list for most residents. Street maintenance,
management of finances, parks and recreation, zoning,
and overall customer service are also very important.
|
3. How would you balance the City Budget?
|
Answer from Ken A Suer:
Our budget is already in great shape. We are fortunate
that we were able to whether the recent recession better
than many communities. Strong oversight by Council, and
a relentless quest for cost saving approaches have served
the City well.
|
4. Citizen engagement is important to the health of local government. In what ways do you support citizen engagement?
|
Answer from Ken A Suer:
Montgomery is considered a leader in this area and we
have received state and nationwide recognition for our
efforts in this field. Our Leadership Academy is perhaps
the most impressive project we have undertaken to engage
citizens.
