Josh's Positions on Community and Public Safety Issues.With slouching economies comes rising crime rates. Law abiding citizens must be protected and as a member of City Council I will demand the highest quality of protection and service from our law enforcement agencies. However, we must as a community realize that law enforcement is often a reactionary solution to the crime problem. The only true preventative solution is a strong community with strong moral values. Preventing the recruitment of new criminals starts at home but includes the entire village. We need more volunteer coaches, tutors and mentors. It includes cooperation between our schools and parents, and it absolutely requires a Community that is talking, caring and involved with its youth. Our community is proud and strong. We have many great churches, organizations and businesses in town. Our residents have always been generous and our local programs funded. I will work to help assist the many organizations and leaders across our community to help further the good goals they have set in our town. I hope to start a quarterly meeting where leaders form any group, organization, business, team or committee may come and share their goals, needs and achievements. A strong network is key to an even stronger community. |
