Full Biography for Joshua L "Josh" Whitfield

Josh Whitfield has been a resident in Waterford since he was four years old. As a business owner, community volunteer and public affairs professional, Josh understands the challenges facing local governments all across California. He is a straight shooter who deals with people fairly and directly. Josh is always open to speak with constituents, believing that communication the public is a primary job of any elected official. Josh attended elementary school in Waterford and Middle School in Hickman. Josh served for five years in the Army, enlisting after graduating from High School in Hughson. Highlighting his career in the Army was 2007 deployment to Iraq in which Josh was awarded the Bronze Star and Purple Heart. He continued his service after being medically retired by the Army as a advocate for Veterans in the Central Valley. In 2011, Josh was recognized as the 25th Assembly District's Veteran of the Year for that service. Since returning home in 2009, Josh has served as the Waterford Youth Basketball League director for four seasons and is currently in his third year working with the Waterford High School Football program. He has always enjoyed mentoring the next generation of leaders. Josh has volunteered for several years and worked for one year with the United States Space and Rocket Center's Aviation Challenge Program in Huntsville, AL. The USSRC is home to Space Camp as well. Josh attended Aviation Challenge thirteen times in his youth, and was inducted into the Space Camp Hall of Fame in 2008. He hopes to continue working with the Waterford High School Football Program in the future and to turning his attention to help combat gang influence over local children. Josh is a proud homeowner in Waterford CA, purchasing his home at just 22 years old. Josh plans to one day receive MBA from Stanislaus State and continue working in the Public Affairs field. |
