Priorities as Elected Official

By Hugo D. Molina

Candidate for Council Member; City of Ceres

This information is provided by the candidate
I am an arden supporter of Public Safety, Economic Development and Quality of Life.
Hello,

My name is Hugo Molina; I have been part of the Ceres Planning Commission since Jan 11, 2010 when the City Council appointed me after being referred by Senator/ then Mayor of Ceres Anthony Cannella. I have enjoyed my time in the Planning Commission which has given me an insight at the importance of making sound decisions that will affect the lives of many including that of my own family. After attending the by weekly Council meetings for few months, my interest in public service grew and the thought of being able to serve my community grew stronger with time, it is then I decided to apply for the Planning Commission.

When I decided to run for city council, I made a promise to myself, "when elected, I will always thrive to do what's best without compromise". I believe in fairness, equality and over all in unity.

I have regularly attended the city council meetings for the past 4 years and I have seen our councilmen make some tough decisions that ultimately had the best interest of Ceres at hand. I am a team player, and although my vote may not always see eye to eye to what others in the council vote and agree, I believe that by making sound and well studied decisions we can definitely make Ceres rise up and make it stand out among all these great surrounding cities.

As a candidate to a council seat, I am committed to aid in the improvement of:

  • *Economic Development, I am an ardent proponent of business and job creation. As a business owner I see the importance of making Ceres a more business friendly community thus creating more revenues and jobs for our people.

  • *Public Safety, Police and Fire are vital priority, maintain and support our existing structure is a key element of establishing and keeping a safe community. Even if it means supporting a gang injunction area plan which we have no need for at the moment.

  • *Recreational Projects; As a family man, I see the need of quality family time and very much needed community events. I will vigorously work to keep making improvements to what's already in existence and work with the appropriate departments to spark new ideas and venues.
