World Class Education For Our World Class Community to raise global citizens for the 21st century!

As a seasoned physician leader caring for patients since 1995, and as a mom of three (3) bright and well-rounded kids thriving in our community of learning since 2002, I have volunteered extensively in my kids' classrooms since their preschool years and throughout Crocker Middle School, to help shape young minds with healthy habits and to model leadership roles for our kids. My physician-husband/devoted dad and I have served as head/assistant coach, and are actively engaged on the Hillsborough AYSO soccer teams since 2006, to promote physical wellness and teamwork for our kids. I also have served as a class physician for three HCSD fourth-graders' (West Classes of 2008, 2010, 2012) Yosemite Outdoors Education Weeks. And what was still truly gratifying for me was when one of the fourth-graders got very sick, he chose me to care for him because he knew me from kindergarten days and trusted me to help him during his trying illness away from home.

I am an avid health advocate for kids' wellness, and having served and chaired the West School Wellness Committee (2008 to 2012), and worked with other energetic, talented and dedicated parents to promote, for example, "Healthy Choices, Healthy Me!" at the West School Health Fair 2008, or to SAY NO TO DRUGS during the 2012 Red Ribbon Week. Further, Wellness For Our School also includes improving childhood obesity with "let's get moving" physical activities and healthy choices during school lunch selections. Social and emotional wellness is especially vital at Crocker Middle School to empower our students to withstand any bullying and overcome depression risks and prevent teenage suicide. My vision to serve on the Hillsborough School Board is to further promote the education of the "whole child" in our strong and richly diverse community, to become critical, constructive and creative thinkers. My mission is to empower our kids with the vital skills to grow into happy, productive and positive adults. Together, with your votes on November 5, 2013, we can achieve these essential goals for our kids!
