Dan's background and experience are assets to the Larkspur City Council1. Dan Hillmer Loves Larkspur. Dan has lived in Larkspur for 25 years and has raised a family here. 2. Dan Hillmer has served on the Planning Commission and the City Council since moving to Larkspur and Heather Gardens. He has listened, watched and learned how the community has changed over almost three decades. This experience is most valuable in understanding how to manage future challenges. 3. Dan Hillmer works well with others. He has shown that he can work together within a wide range of opinions and is a consensus builder. 4. Dan Hillmer's professional background and experience in Community Development is an asset to the City Council as it works in cooperation with other Marin County jurisdictions and Agencies. 5. Larkspur and San Rafael will be discussing a direct Freeway connection to the Richmond Bridge from NB101 to EB580 north of Sir Francis Drake Boulevard. Dan has the experience and pledges to make this congestion reduction concept a reality, if feasible, and If he is allowed to serve another term on the City Council. 6. Larkspur will be continuing to fix its streets, roads and bridges. My background and experience will be helpful in managing and setting priorities for these improvements. 7. Larkspur must deal with the parking problems in the Downtown and at Larkspur Landing. Dan pledges to work with property and business owners to develop district wide solutions to parking deficiencies in these areas. 8. Sir Francis Drake Boulevard needs improvement to add capacity and to improve safety. Improvements between Bon Air Road and the Richmond Bridge should be studied. 9. The Proposal to improve and expand Marin General Hospital will have tremendous impacts to the Larkspur community. Dan's experience will be valuable to best manage these impacts to our City and Neighborhoods especially on the traffic side. 10.Larkspur must protect its Fiscal Stability through continued careful planning and strategy to make sure the City meets its short term obligations and effectively manages long term liabilities. The next four years are a critical timeframe in which to make the right decisions guiding our City into the future. |
