For Salinas Union High School Board Trustee Lila Cann, the future success of our students depends on the priorities we set right now. Lila has a forward-looking vision for our schools that seeks to match our students to the needs of an ever-changing, global economy. Over the next four years, Lila is committed to:A FIFTH HIGH SCHOOL AND MIDDLE SCHOOL to alleviate overcrowding in our classrooms and meet the requirements of our community's growing population EXPANDED OPPORTUNITIES for vocational education for students who seek to learn a trade and advanced placement courses for our most academically-gifted students TEACHER TRAINING to ensure that only the best and most qualified teachers are instructing our young people STEM STUDIES to emphasize the high-paying career opportunities of the future with a focus on science, technology, engineering, and math. SCHOOL SAFETY so that our parents know their children are learning in safe, secure environments and to prevent the type of deadly school violence that has occurred in other parts of the nation |
