I have lived in Salinas since 1959, owned and ran two businesses, have worked in our schools and served as your representative on the Salinas Union High School Board for eight years.

School boards should include people with business, school and community experience. I have all three.

My husband and I operated the Fosters Freeze in Salinas for over 18 years and we continued to be small business owners together for an additional five years.

Currently, I am the Food and Nutrition Services Manager for Monterey County Head Start.

I am proud to have been President of the Salinas National Little League for 13 years and have served on the Board of Directors of Sunrise House.

My children and now my grandchildren have attended local schools and I am proud of the accomplishments that our District has achieved for them and for all of our children.

We have preserved and expanded elective and Advanced Placement courses, music and art. We have kept class sizes small and the District fiscally stable.

I am committed to expanding our vocational and AP courses to ensure increased opportunities for all our students and ensuring that all of our students have the opportunity to attend college, if they so desire.

Whether you live in the Washington Union School District, Spreckels Union School District or Salinas City Elementary School District, I am committed to working hard to strengthen the cooperation and collaboration between all of our individual districts.

Local schools should reflect our local communities, and I am proud to represent the families of Salinas Union High School District, Trustee Area 7.
