Candidate for
Governing Board Member; Monrovia Unified School District

My name is Alex Zucco and I am running for re-election to the Monrovia Board of Education. I have had the honor to serve on the Monrovia School Board for the last four years and am asking for your continued support and vote on Nov. 5th to continue working for Monrovia Students, Families and Staff.

As a parent and volunteer in this district for the last 14 years, I have seen firsthand how our schools run day-to-day, how vital volunteers and community partners are to our schools and where we can make improvements.

Our site administrators work very hard, with not nearly enough resources, to keep campuses safe clean and orderly. I have proposed forming a District Facility Sub-Committee to track and outline the needs at all our facilities. Over the last four years; I have worked to bring the Dual Immersion Language Program to our district, supported ways to bring in new revenue to our schools through new programs like the Math & Science Academy, the Chinese Exchange Student Summer Program and Saturday School for attendance recovery and supported the families and staff of our schools in insure Monrovia schools are safe, healthy thriving places to go to school and work. Each year programs like our Dual Immersion and Math and Science Academy bring students from other districts and private schools. I am extremely supportive of both programs and finding ways to improve them, as well as expand them to other campuses or mediums to attract more students.
