Family Don Wilson is a candidate for Palmdale School Board. Don and his wife Ruth of 37 years have been residents of Palmdale since 1987. Their three children attended school in the Palmdale School District at Yucca, Summerwind and Juniper. They went on to graduate from Highland High School. The children were active in youth sports, soccer, wrestling and high school pageantry. Don was a soccer coach and referee. At Saint Mary's Church Don headed the Eucharistic Ministry for over seven years. Both Ruth and Don also taught religious education classes at St. Mary's. Now with five grandchildren Don and Ruth continue to keep busy attending soccer games, little league games, dance recitals and motocross races. Career As an account representative of 26 years for a great California company, Foster Farms, Don works with buyers from large retail chains to small independent markets. In his job he has established long term working relationships with store owners, meat and deli managers and corporate buyers. As a senior account rep Don works with new hires and mentors fellow sales reps. He credits his success to his ability to communicate clearly and to work with a multitude of departments to solve problems when they arise. Creating Better Futures for Our Students As the husband of a school teacher Don understands the rigors and demands of teaching. He understands the issues our students deal with day in and day out. If elected Don will effectively communicate with administrators, teachers and parents to bring issues to light that need attention. He will work very hard to make sure every tax dollar is spent wisely to benefit the classroom environment. Every student deserves to have an excellent teacher at every grade level. |
