Outstanding Educational Programs in East Whittier City School District

2013 API score for the District was 853 which is 75 points higher than Los Angeles County.These scores are 64 points higher than the State of California.
The District personnel working with the Board of Education have exceeded both the County and State test scores. This has been achieved with a concerted effort by teachers, administrators, and classified employees. All employees working together have enabled the students to show remarkable growth.

District employees are continuing to achieve great success with the students even though the funding level ranks us 49 out of the 50 states in financial support from the State and Federal government.

The challenge facing the District personnel and the Board of Education is to prepare our teachers and classified employees for the newly mandated Federal Curriculum. The District is already beginning the process of assisting teachers and classified to develop programs and strategies to work effectively with our students using the new Federal curriculum.
