Our next Assemblywoman must work to keep current jobs and bring new jobs into our San Fernando (AD45) District by offering tax incentives and highlighting the positives of moving new industries to our communities. This means identifying new positive projects and developments that will bring more jobs for our community.
I have owned and operated a small business in the San Fernando Valley for over 30 years. I know how difficult it has been for small businesses to open and operate in California in recent years. There are needless taxes that small business owners are burdened with that make it virtually impossible to keep doors open, much less hiring new employees. We have to use common sense,
and lessen the tax burden on small business owners, which makes it possible for businesses to open up their budgets in order to provide new jobs in the district.
I will work in the State Assembly to help make it easier to open new businesses in the district. I will support modifying the tax code so that corporations and big business are more inclined to keep jobs here at home. I will fight against the privatization of important government services and the outsourcing of public sector jobs. Making our District more business friendly will lead to the jobs that we Californians so desperately need.
I will work to create sustainable, long-term jobs for the citizens of California. Green jobs, transportation infrastructure, and communication technologies are all rapidly growing industries that Californians should continue to have access to in their search for work. Making it easier for clean technology businesses to operate in California is paramount to bringing sustainable jobs to the state. I will fight for measures similar to AB 796, which provides loan guarantees to clean technology companies opening or relocating in California. Solar power is one of the fastest growing industries in our state, and measures like AB 2590, which will help push California to clean, local solar energy, will bring countless new jobs to our state and district.
As a small business owner, I have personal experience with the difficulties small businesses are facing on a day-to-day basis. I will work to help cut the red tape that might keep new job opportunities from reaching SFV in a timely and expeditious manner.
