Michael Markman is the President of BET Investments, a diversified real estate company that owns, manages, develops, and leases over five million square feet of shopping centers, office buildings, apartment communities throughout the United States. Before joining BET served as General Counsel and managed all legal matters for a publicly traded, New York Stock Exchange real estate investment trust (REIT) with over $500 million in assets. Michael is a graduate of the University of California at Berkeley and Temple University School of Law. Mr. Markman is also a member of the bar in Pennsylvania and formerly and has held many positions in the International Council of Shopping Centers. He currently serves on the Boards of the Montgomery County Redevelopment Authority and the Abington Industrial Development Authority and formerly served as Chairman of the Abington Township Planning Commission. Mr. Markman is on the Board of Directors of the John A. Robbins Company and is a frequent speaker at real estate conferences and continuing education seminars.

Mr. Markman has been an Abington resident since 1995 where he resides with his wife Dr. Lynne Markman, a Psychologist at Abington Memorial Hospital, and his three children who attend Abington schools.
