Tom Shar has the experience you can depend on.

Service to the Township. Tom has served on the Elk Township Planning Commission since 2007. Also, he knows about the Oxford Region Multimunicipal Comprehensive Plan, and what it means for Elk Township.

Professional Experience as an Attorney. He served as a Deputy Attorney General for New Jersey for 29 years where he handled litigation and construction projects. He was the Attorney General's representative on a committee of the board of commissioners which was responsible for managing the construction of the $266 million New Atlantic City Convention Center and the $100 million renovation of Atlantic City Boardwalk Hall. After returning to private law practice, he is an arbitrator, mediator and litigator.

Military Experience. Tom is a retired Lieutenant Colonel, Army Reserve. He served in various command and staff positions. He was the Inspector General of a separate infantry brigade where he conducted investigations and inspections and assisted soldiers in resolving problems. He is a graduate of the Army Command and General Staff College.

College Adjunct Instructor. Tom currently is an adjunct instructor at Delaware County Community College at the Pennocks Bridge campus near Jennersville where he teaches American National Government, Criminal Law, and Criminal Procedure.

Tom resides on a small, working horse farm and is a member of the Pennsylvania Horse Breeders Association.
