1. How would you promote good nutrition in your schools?
|
Answer from Lani Carrow:
It had been proven that good students are well-nourished students and my concerns in that area are the preparation and delivery of in-school nutrition. My hope is that GVSD has the option of buying local organic fruits and vegetables, more natural grains with no sugar-drinks allowed. In addition, I would prefer if GVSD would start to limit the use of aluminum pans or foils used directly on the food that is prepared. Many large scale food operations ignore the aluuminum concern (cheap alternative to cook) but the evidence is mounting against aluminum use(directly on food) because of it's links to Alzheimer's.
