When it comes to speaking up for the West Valley, Joyce Pearson has been front and center in championing the causes and actions that best benefit our neighborhoods and businesses.

A 34-year Valley resident, Joyce has spent countless hours leading civic, charitable and economic projects and working to enhance our quality of life, our involvement in City government and our economic well being. As a CPA and tax attorney, she has headed a growing business in Woodland Hills. She graduated from Florida State University and Southwestern University School of Law. Joyce is a member of the State Bar of California and a member of the California State Board of Accountancy,

Joyce takes immense pride in her involvement with community and neighborhood organizations. She is the Past Chair of Woodland Hills Warner Center Neighborhood Council. She is also past President and current member of the Encino Chamber of Commerce, a current Board Member of the Valley Village Foundation and the Valley Women's Center. She serves as member of the Woodland Hills Tarzana Chamber of Commerce, Canoga Park West Hills Chamber and Winnetka Chamber of Commerce. Joyce served on the Warner Center Specific Plan Committee that helped create the new Specific Plan, and she is a member of the Kiwanis Club of Warner Center, the Rotary Club and a charter member of the West Valley Lions Club. She served as a Treasurer of the Valley Cultural Center, and has served as a Board Member of the West Valley BOOSTERS and the United Chambers of Commerce.

She was also one of the principal organizers behind the San Fernando Valley's campaign for cityhood, and was elected as the representative in District 8.

Joyce Pearson is married to Terence P. Coates, a retired police officer and a highly decorated Disabled Veteran. Both she and her husband are members of the Disabled American Veterans Association. She was an advocate for keeping the full medical facility open at the Sepulveda V. A. and joined the demonstrations to object to the reduction of the physical services at the Sepulveda building being made available to veterans.
