Janet Chin's Candidate Statement in 200 words

I have lived in Rosemead over 28 years, am a third generation Army Veteran having proudly served 5 years in the US Army and the California Army National Guard and was elected twice to serve as a Garvey school board member. I am blessed to work in our community as a Communications Director for the 24th Senate District and want to give back to this city that gave me so much growing up.

I have served as a Rosemead Traffic Commissioner, am a graduate of the Rosemead and Sheriff's Citizens Academies, am a Neighborhood Watch Captain, and my children participate in the Rosemead Youth Association and Rebels. I am no stranger to hard work and tough decisions and I will not fail to serve with the upmost integrity and honesty. I have been a small business owner and founded a non-profit charity.

My vision to "Build a Better Rosemead" includes working together to support small businesses, make our public safety a priority, get our families better prepared for emergencies, and protect our Seniors from being taken advantage of.
