State Representative; Pennsylvania State House of Representatives; District 132

Mike's community involvement, experience and vision have prepared him to become State Representative. Mike is employed by the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce the Vice President of Member Relations & Applied Technology. In that capacity, Mike works with small business owners to help them navigate the challenges of the economy and make sure that they are getting the most out of their Chamber Membership. Mike also trains small businesses in how to take advantage of Social Media. Previous to that, Mike worked as a as a state-certified Urban Revitalization Specialist, where he works with volunteers, government officials, and business owners to develop and enhance urban communities. Mike has won multiple awards, including the 2009 Downtown Manager of the Year (Pennsylvania Downtown Center), Top 40 Under 40 staff (American Chamber of Commerce Executives) and Top 20 under 40 Young Professionals (East Penn Business Journal).

In November 2009, Mike was elected to Allentown City Council, becoming the youngest member of City Councilman ever to be elected. In 2011, Mike was elected as City Council Vice President. As a Councilman, Mike is the Chairman of the Public Works Committee and a member of the Community & Economic Development and Intergovernmental Relations and Rules Committees. His accomplishments as a Councilman include:

Legislation banning the use of hand-held cell-phones.

Enhanced saving and spending for infrastructure improvements to the City's Water & Sewer facilities.

Increased free training for small business owners.

Increased penalties for noise ordinance violators.

Better monitoring and control over the city's critical Risk Management fund.

Dramatically enhanced budgetary procedures.

Reformation of the Urban Observatory, designed to identify & solve policy issues through empirical research and bring the City closer to local colleges. As a Councilman, Mike understands the need to keep taxes low; as a result, he has never voted for a tax increase.

Previously, Mike served as an aide to State Representative Jennifer Mann, where he worked on legislation and constituent services that have impacted the lives of Allentown residents. Prior to that, he ran the Democratic Party's outreach operations during the 2006 elections. He also served as a political aide to County Executive Don Cunningham.

Mike graduated magna cum laude from Muhlenberg College with a Bachelors degree in Political Science and Psychology, where he also earned admission into the distinguished Phi Beta Kappa honor society. Mike continued his education at Lehigh University, where he earned his Masters degree in Political Science.

Schlossberg is also actively involved in his community. He is a member of the Allentown Jewish Community Center (JCC) and Congregation Keneseth Israel. Additionally, Schlossberg is a board member of the I Run for Jack (Jack Pressmann Memorial Scholarship Run) and Renew Lehigh Valley.

Schlossberg is married to his wife, Brenna, a teacher in the Allentown School District. Mike and Brenna have one son, Auron, born in April 2011. They are homeowners on 19th street in Allentown.
