Higher EducationBy Joseph M. HaasCandidate for State Representative; Pennsylvania State House of Representatives; District 187 | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
As someone who earned his degree as a non-traditional student, I personally know the struggles many Pennsylvanians face in their pursuit of higher education. With the significant funding cuts enacted by the Corbett administration, getting a post-High School education is more difficult than ever. The additional funding cuts in the 2012 budget are unacceptable. Even worse, as our economy and the quality of our public universities continue to suffer severely under this administration, those who seek higher education often leave school with burdensome debt and little hope of securing entry into the job market. I will lead the fight to improve our higher education system and contain the costs of tuition, so that Pennsylvanians can get back to work. |
