candidate statement
I am seeking reelection to offer respectful responsible leadership through these economic crisis times. In the last four years, the majority of the council has been determined not to add to the burden of debt of the City through ill-advised building projects. Also, we have streamlined city permit processes. We have faced critics respectfully while finding needed yet difficult ways to balance the budget. As a community leader I have fostered cooperation with citizens working to build up our town. The Council majority has listened to citizens, and as a result, we have modified actions. Keeping the pool open, working with the school district for a track gate, keeping the park restrooms open are examples of how citizens have been heard, and positive creative solutions were implemented. Frankly, I will always try to do the right thing for the people of Fillmore. Fixing the economic missteps of five and eight years ago has taken its toll on Fillmore. However, we can do more than just survive; we can thrive if we have a spirit of cooperation and a "can do" attitude. I offer both. Thanks for your support!
