Member of the State Assembly; District 12

I was born on September 9, 1952 in Baguio City, Philippines. I am the 7th of 9 siblings. I spent my Elementary and High School in the Philippines until I joined the United States Navy at the age of 19. While in the Navy, I worked as an Aviation Machinist Mate for a period of 4 years.

After I received an Honorable Discharge, I went on to work for the US Postal Service for 31 years. During my employ with the USPS, I managed to go to school and earned a degree in Economics from San Jose State University. My wife and I also owned and managed a Dry Cleaning and Laundry buisness during that time.

After moving to Lathrop, I run for a seat in the City Council and won in 2008. Today I am serving as the Vice Mayor. I am married to Corazon Mateo for 38 years with 2 grown daughters and 4 grand children.
