Questions & Answers

1. How will you prioritize the budget choices the Legislature must make to align the state’s income and spending?

Reduce regulations and taxes to incentivize small business to create new jobs and bring businesses and residents back to California.

2. What types of changes or reforms, if any, do you think are important to make our state government function more effectively?

Results-driven accountability for our spending along with ending regulations that make it harder to live and do business in California are two reforms I will work hard to accomplish.

3. Fees for public higher education have gone up dramatically and funding has been cut. Is this a priority concern, and if so, what measures would you propose to address it?

Yes, education is a top priority. With children in both High School and Community College and my wife as a K-12 School Teacher in California, I believe the best way to address this concern would be to return decisions on spending and curriculum back to local control so that school districts can better assess and address the needs of their students.

4. What other major issues do you think the Legislature must address? What are your own priorities?

Energy prices are devastating everyone's ability to affordable live and work in California. We must address California's energy concerns, production, and repeal AB 32.
