Karyn Pulley is seeking re-election as school board trustee for CRPUSD. She has given in excess of 25 years of volunteer service to the school district, and most recently has completed 12 years as a school board member. Karyn also served as an elected representative to the California School Board Association, serving Region 3A. Karyn embraces the ideals that every youth is a lifelong learner, so she too, has continued her education, completing the Master's in Governance program at CSBA. Additionally, while serving on the school board, the district has most recently instituted class size reduction, the implementation of one 45/15 site, and the development of a K-3 elementary school and 4-6 intermediate school. There has been expansion of the 6-8 program at middle school, and enhancement of vocational and career pathway model for the high school. Karyn believes in the implementation of the programs this year in the district that help to support youth needing remediation, maintaining their academics or acceleration of their academic programs. Karyn is a community volunteer. When not devoting time to her school board responsibilities, she serves as teen program coordinator for Sonoma County 4-H programs, All Star Advisor, and executive board member for Sonoma County 4-H Council. Further she has served on numerous state advisory committees within the program. In her not too distant past, she served on numerous site councils and PTA boards, serving as president 7 times. She has been a member of PTA for over 25 years, serving as past president for Cotati Rohnert Park schools. Other organizations of interest are Sonoma County Farm Bureau, and California Women in Agriculture. Karyn has lived in the community in excess of 30 years, and is married with two children. Both children attended Rohnert Park-Cotati schools, and have since graduated. |
