Healthcare, County Services & Education

By Shelly Masur

Candidate for Supervisor; County of San Mateo; District 4

This information is provided by the candidate
Shelly Masur is the mother of three, a Redwood City School District Board Member and a women's healthcare professional with more than 20 years of experience. She is the only candidate for supervisor with real experience and a track record of getting things done to improve and deliver vital county services.
As a School Board Member, Shelly led the Redwood City elementary schools to a period of increased academic performance, despite these tough economic times. She helped the District make tough decisions and leverage partnerships to balance the budget and lessen the impact of budget cuts, all while improving communication with district parents and community members.

As Supervisor, Shelly will use her experience to improve vital county services by:

Supporting programs for our children and youth, such as children's health services, improved public education and quality preschools

Making sure programs are in place to support our senior population

Supporting local police, fire and 9-1-1 services by fighting against any future state raids on local government funds

Creating jobs by supporting our schools to ensure a well-prepared workforce equipped with quality education at all levels

Sustaining quality preschool programs to ready young children for future academic success
