City Clerk; City of Daly City

I'm running for City Clerk to make positive changes in the office. I understand how important the City Clerk's duties are and I take them very seriously. The Clerk's office is responsible for a variety of tasks. In addition to the general office routine, the clerk is responsible for archiving and managing official documents and assuring the transparency of the city's business. The Clerk's office serves as the city's information center for both the public and local government. The Clerk also acts as Election Officer in all municipal elections. These are important duties, but the most important job of all is serving the public.

I hold a BA in Economics and have over 20 years administrative experience. I have worked in the Daly City Clerk's Office for four years and am experienced in all tasks. We will work together promptly since I am trilingual. I also speak Tagalog and Spanish fluently and act as the department's translator.

I will work to restore the City Clerk's Office to the efficient, friendly, and professional department as it was, in the past. I will make sure that every citizen who comes to the office is treated in a professional and friendly manner and our seniors are treated with respect . City Clerk should give time in explaining the current role and functions of the City, in simple, easy-to-understand instructions in describing various municipal-community initiatives. The City Clerk's Office door will be open to ALL.

I believe in transparency but it should not be abused. More information means more freedom which gives more power. But abused, when one gets individual privacy reports and passes them around with malice. The City Clerk should safeguard the information's veracity and must attempt to prevent its misuse.
