Being elected to office is an honor afforded to those who are committed to serving in the public's interest. The community of Cayucos, because of its small population base and limited financial resources, has to be managed wisely. Implementing the WWTP upgrade project, for example, requires seasoned fiscal leadership skills and a thorough understanding of the options available to the community. Since we must live within our means and abide with legal mandates, I believe that we don't have the luxury of choosing a course of action that impacts our residents with higher monthly service fees beyond what is absolutely necessary to meet our obligations. The District has to be prudent and always look to what is best for the residents who must pay for the infrastructure and services we depend on. If elected, my mandate will be to work with my fellow Board Members in a fiscally responsible manner to serve and protect the community's interest.
