Full Biography for Hanna Leung
Candidate for |

|
Hanna Leung is the daughter of two teachers and a product of public schools and colleges. An attorney, she has practiced workers compensation law in San Francisco since 1986. She has been involved with City College since early in her career --her clients are exclusively injured workers, and very many of them depend on training from City College to return to gainful and productive employment. For over 25 years, she has been the host of a popular public affairs TV show on Chinese language TV, Falu Mantan, or "legal talk", currently appearing on KTSF26, and World Channel KMTP-TV32. For many years, she has also appeared on Chinese talk radio. City College ESL classes are an important issue in the lives of her clients and her viewers. She is General Counsel and Executive Board Member of the Community Youth Center and former Chair of the Board of the Chinese Newcomers Service Center. Hanna has been married for 20 years to former public defender Bruce Chan. They have a daughter, 15, who is in high school, and a son, 17, who is preparing to go to college. As a Workers' Compensation Attorney, Hanna has recently put together a program with the City College Disabled Students Program, the California Department of Industrial Relations, and the Workers' Compensation Insurance carriers to bring much-needed revenue to the College from the insurance carriers, who will be paying for much-needed re-training and rehabilitation for injured workers. |
