Julian Davis is a Bay Area native who has been living and working in San Francisco since 2002. He is a graduate of Brown University and U.C. Hastings College of the Law (magna cum laude). Board President of the Booker T. Washington Community Service Center, he has worked in government and the non-profit and legal sectors on community development, social justice and environmental causes. As Executive Director of a community economic development non-profit, he worked with small business owners to navigate the hurdles of setting up shop in San Francisco. Before that, he worked for former Assemblyman, now State Senator, Mark Leno, in his San Francisco district office.

Julian received the Local Hero Award from the San Francisco Bay Guardian in 2009 and was hailed by Executive Editor Tim Redmond as "a leader in the progressive political community for years to come." For six years he served on the board of the San Francisco Housing Development Corporation. He's also a former board member of the urban environmental organization San Francisco Tomorrow. The San Francisco Board of Supervisors appointed Julian to the Market Octavia Citizens' Advisory Committee and awarded him a certificate of honor in 2007 in recognition of his outstanding service to the people of the City and County of San Francisco.
