Plan to put San Francisco Community College back on track

By Natalie (Katz) Berg

Candidate for Member, Community College Board; County of San Francisco

This information is provided by the candidate
To address accreditation issues and ensure full accreditation for the San Francisco Community College District
The college needs to address the accreditation issues that were raised by the accreditation report. Among other things, we need to support the passage of Proposition A, a parcel tax benefiting City College of San Francisco and Proposition 30, a State Proposition that will provide funds to K-12 and Community Colleges throughout the state. Passage of these Propositions are crucial for City College of San Francisco and its Mission.

We need to conduct a thorough fiscal and educational analysis of City College of San Francisco by an independent third party in order to stabilize the college and keep the doors open for our 90,000 students who depend on City College for job skill training, English as a Second Language and courses necessary for transfer to four-year institutions of higher learning.

We need to ensure that we enhance student success by encouraging student learning outcomes.
