Candidate for
Council Member; City of Solana Beach

Peter Zahn is a Business Attorney, and the owner of Counsel Direct Law Offices, a full service business law firm in Solana Beach, California. Peter founded the firm twelve years ago, bringing a wealth of business experience to the legal practice. He has served as CEO for three companies, including a global technology business, and has held executive and Board of Director positions with companies located in Germany, the United Kingdom, Japan, Korea, and Brazil. Peter also founded and advised several start-up companies.

Peter is founder and Chairman of the U.S. Green Chamber of Commerce, a nationwide, non profit, membership-based business association headquartered in Solana Beach that enables businesses to participate in the green economy. Additionally, Peter held positions of Vice President and Board Member, and Executive Committee Member of the Solana Beach Chamber of Commerce, where he Chaired the City's Fiesta del Sol festival.

Peter also serves on the Board of the Moxie Foundation, whose mission is to foster innovation and entrepreneurship. On behalf of the Foundation, Peter helped establish a business incubator for students, faculty, and alumni at San Diego State University; he is currently working to put a second business incubator into UCSD. Peter sits on the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce's Energy and Water Committee. He is past Chairman of the San Diego Council of TechAmerica (the former American Electronics Association (AEA)) and Member of TechAmerica's National Board of Directors, where he served on their Small Business Committee. He served also on the Boards of the American Lung Association of California and the American Lung Association of San Diego and Imperial Counties. Peter is a member of the Solana Beach Civic and Historical Society and a Friend of the Solana Beach Library.

Peter is a member of the Bar of California, New York, and New Jersey, as well as the American and San Diego County Bar Associations. He received his Juris Doctor Degree from the Catholic University School of Law and his undergraduate degree from George Washington University.
