Balanced Budget & Revenue ProductionBy Jim WoodCandidate for Mayor; City of Oceanside | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
We must continue balancing the budget and ensuring quality businesses come to Oceanside that help increase City revenues, increase tourism and provide services to the community. If you re-elect me Mayor, I will continue the progress we have made in Oceanside. We all know times are tough but I will make sure we spend the city's money wisely. Oceanside can move forward and grow but must do so without subsidizing development that cannot pay its own way. Your pocketbook is my strong concern. I want quality businesses to come and stay in Oceanside, our beautiful gem by the sea. I will continue to promote good business and development that serves, not takes away from, the community. I have worked from the local to the national level to bring business opportunities to Oceanside. I am constantly seeking quality developers to come to our community such as the Ocean Ranch Business Park and helped gain the addition of hundreds of quality hotel rooms to expand the tourist industry. Recently the Marriott broke ground on a 150-room hotel site downtown and the "1010" development project will soon bring 250 construction jobs, 80 permanent positions and $500,000 of additional revenue to the City |
