El Cajon is part of an area with above the average risks as compared to the county.

In our groups, we are working to promote healthy lifestyles through education and outreach by compiling and distributing healthy eating resources to residents, as well as working with markets and restaurants to make healthy foods easily accessible and preparation techniques readily available. Several government programs are already in place to help with these positive transitions and we are working on more to ensure a healthier environment. Healthcare costs are a big concern in politics these days, but the best way to bring down that cost is to be healthy enough to not drive ourselves to need it in the first place.
